Do I need to be a computer wizard to have a site and do business on the web?

No. Some of our customers don't even own a computer. You stay in touch with your customers via phone, FAX, or surface ("snail") mail. We monitor your site and inform you of its performance. If you are on a Premier hosting plan, we provide enhanced web site analysis. If we see potential enhancements that could improve your results, we let you know. No computer knowledge on your part is required. You can rely on our people. Some of our people have almost 30 years experience in the computer field. We became a part of the online community in about 1985 and opened our first true full web site in early 1993.

How big is the Internet market?

No one really knows. In their 1994 book, The Internet Business Guide, Rosalind Resnick and Dave Taylor cited government figures estimating the number of people signed up on the Internet at well over 20 million. The April 1997 figures were 47 million and the April 2000 figure is 315 million. This indicates so much growth that it makes it difficult to estimate. There are two factors here: who is in your market, and how many are buyers? Some are international; at our first site for a large international business, more than 50% were international visitors. The typical range is 20%-60%. Thus, the Internet is a very international market. As to buyer numbers, if only 1% of those people intend to purchase something through the Internet in a given year--well you get the idea. We believe that the convenience of Internet shopping, with the on line search and information retrieval capacity, will revolutionize some markets. For example, unless the corner bookstore has an Internet purchase option and meets a special niche, its days may be numbered.

Can I find out how people visit the site?

You get a detailed monthly visitation reports about your site. It shows how many page visits were made and how many people are visiting each page. The address for these are sent only to you. It is not shared with others. If we notice that your report shows you may not be meeting your market, we may suggest options for you to try to improve it. Our philosophy is, "we succeed, when you succeed." We want you as our customer for a long time.

I am not able to access the Internet. Can I have a business that uses the web?

Yes you certainly can. Several of the businesses with us don't even own a computer. They use the FAX forwarding service for their e-mail. However, while you don't need to be on the Internet, your customers will need to have access to find out about the products you are advertising on the Internet. If you chose to not obtain e-mail or FAX forwarding service, you will be severely limited in how you are contacted. People have come to prefer e-mail contact. Otherwise your customer's will need to use their phone, FAX, or just write to you. Your pages can include a print form for sending in orders. For people that are really computer phobic, you can even show what you want in the design of your suite page on sketches and mail it to us.

My business needs support services. Can you help?

Yes, we have many support services for our clients. For example, you can opt to have orders processed by an OfficeOnWeb form and the result sent directly to you. We also provide a separate order service that accepts MasterCard and Visa (for your customer's privacy and security, only you receive the credit card information, you receive the order and only you and OfficeOnWeb can access it, once you delete it, it is gone from the net).

I already have pages (or plan to use another page creation service), can I have those pages be a part of my site?

Yes. You need commercial hosting; if you select an OfficeOnWeb managed plan,we will check your pages for compatibility and ensure that they meet appropriate standards. If they are designed properly, they will work fine.

Can I download the pages myself?

You bet. You have full FTP capacities. Just don't let your access codes get away from you.

I want a domain name. Can you help me get one?

Yes. Domain names can be obtained through Office On Web. MyNameOnWeb.com allows you to register your domain name. If your site meets the content requirements of OfficeOnWeb and MallOnWeb, virtual sites obtained from us get a page and a link. Thus they receive the benefits of the site-wide marketing for OfficeOnWeb. That way, you get twice the exposure and marketing benefits.

We are able to give the best prices to businesses by specializing in commercial host activities.

Can I add to my site later?

What is this promotion service I hear about and what do you do?

You have a beautiful web site, the best products, services, and prices, yet if no one knows about it, they will never visit you. If they don't visit, they don't buy. That means you must promote your business and its web site. On the Internet side, it means getting it listed on the search services (spiders); then with business directories. All of our clients are registered with the major search services as a part of their design . Registration and expanded promotion takes some expertise to make it worthwhile, therefore, we offer this expanded marketing service for a small additional fee. Each page is marketed, its performance is monitored, and improvements to the "professional background", plus connections throughout the web are improved as required. A statistical review is conducted each month. We take information from various search engine behavior notification services and apply the latest information.
