Good commercial hosting and professional web design are keys to Internet success, but even more is required of today's "dot-com"
businesses. Success on the Internet is like success with any other business venture; many variables determine if a business will be successful or not. Internet businesses have to
mind these costs and penalties, but they also face challenges that a local shopkeeper may never bother with.
First and foremost is marketing. If a potential customer doesn't know about the product, or information about it is unavailable,
nothing else matters. Marketing is not just advertising; it is finding out who your potential customer may be, what they want, and then making sure they know that you have "just what
they need." Office On Web offers a banner service tailored to your potential customers.
Effective electronic marketing takes research, analysis, and advertising. Many products that had great potential on the web failed
to make money for their creator because they were not marketed properly. We offer AIM service with extensive marketing and monitoring, allowing you to tailor your web site
to your market niche.
Reliable commercial hosting is also important. Many companies fail due to hosting with a slow or unreliable server.
Many Internet Service Providers (ISP's) host web sites on the same computer they use for customers dialing in. That makes for very busy servers and lines, and very slow to load
web pages. Your business can not afford this kind of service.
Office On Web servers operate much more quickly because we do not host web pages on the same computer used for dial
up Internet access. You pay hosting fees, but that is a lot less than the price you could pay in lost business because of poor quality hosting.
| The most beautiful web page is useless if poorly organized. If you walked into the supermarket and found
the potatoes in the dairy section, and the baby food next to household cleaning products, or if you didn't find milk or bread at all, would you ever return? The final key to Internet success
is professional web design. Is the web site attractive? Does it meet the customers needs and answer their questions? Can they find what they are looking for?
The average visitor will give the web site just three (3) mouse clicks to find what they are looking for. Usually
they will spend about forty (40) seconds looking, and if they have not found it they will most likely never return. This means your site needs to not only be attractive, but one which is
clearly and quickly surveyed. At Office On Web we rely on our Internet experience and your knowledge of your business to show exactly what your customers want to see.
If you had a "physical store" you could speak with the customer and interpret visual cues, but "virtual stores"
rely instead on detailed user logs and online feedback forms. Office On Web not only provides logging information free of charge to hosted customers, but will also help you learn how to
interpret what they say.
|Analyze, Improve, and Maintain (AIM) Service.
To allow our clients to have their pages automatically updated and re registered as needed, we offer an Analyze, Improve, and Maintain (AIM) Service for $5 per month per page. It requires
a minimum of five pages within the service to be effective.
Why use the Analyze, Improve, and Maintain (AIM) Service?
Once the initial registration process has been completed, your complete site will be submitted to more than 50 search and listing services. Some search engine services will not accept more
than one page registration request per 48 hours. For this reason we submit your site every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until your main site registration request are completed.
Your logs will show an increase in traffic for about three months from the first date of submission, then begin to decrease.
This is a good thing! The first increases are computer programs (spiders) checking out your site to see if it is real. If the spider decides it is real they may index the site and then
analyze the rating of the page for "relevancy." Once they do this, they reduce their visitation. Then the "real people" start showing up! Look for a robots.txt call in your logs. Usually,
when these start going down, you site has starting obtaining the indexing that we have diligently requested on your behalf.
Registration criteria change daily. If you are considering one of the aforementioned registration services, you may wish to
consider obtaining this option as well as any other options that we make available to our select clients.
Be mindful however, that Internet business like all business is a process. It is a process that takes time, hard work, and
dedication. Success does not happen overnight. Be involved in your business and it will grow. Be involved in your Internet business, add a "signature" to your e-mail, tell people about
your site, and most of all be mindful of what is working and what isn't and it will grow.
